Great Southern Alkaline Glaze Storage Jar Georgia? Ala This is a great Southern pottery piece. This is a nice single handle storage jar in an alkaline glaze that looks like eastern Alabama Cleburne or Randolph County or even further east into Georgia. It has a red clay base and a single handle. It measures 8-3/4" tall. It has some chips around the lip and a small crack that is tight eminating from one of the cracks in the lip about 1/2 way down the jar. It has three holes drilled into the bottom, I suppose for drainage as a flower pot. It is hand turned and has a great look. I purchased it in Chattanooga, TN and it is a great Southern pottery find!
