Baker was a Cumberland Presbyterian minsiter in the Decatur, Illinois area. He was also chaplain of the 116th Illinois Regiment during the Civil War, seeing action in the western theater (Chickasaw Bayou, Arkansas Post, Vicksburg, Missionary Ridge and elsewhere). Rev. Baker was the son of William Davis Baker and Marilla Martin Baker. This auction features a Group of Diploma and Certificate Scrolls For the Family of Nathan Martin Baker.
