A Guide to the Lakes in Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire,illustrated with twenty views of local scenery, and a travelling map of the adjacent country,by John Robinson, D.D.Printed for Lackington, Hughes, Harding, Mayor, and Jones - London 1819.8vo, 328pp, half calf with marbled boards, sympathetically rebound some time ago, so all leather replaced, but orig. boards.Internal hinges cracked, but binding nice & tight apart from ffep, map and title page which have become detached.Map a little creased to outer edge, but nicely coloured. Old inscriptions to title page.All 20 plates present & apart from occasional light foxing around some plates the contents remarkably clean if a little age browned.A very nice rare early guide.
