This was Purchased about 15 years ago right out from Charleston South Carolina on the Roadside at a Handmade Stall which is where a lot of Families sell their baskets. they work on Baskets while they wait for Customers.The Gullah People make these baskets by hand from Sweetgrass from S.C.This incredible talent has been handed down for generations.They can be washed and dried as these are made from Sweetgrass which grows in the Low Country Marshes.No basket is the same, so you will have a Unique Sweetgrass Basket. The Time put into these are a Treasure in itself.A few pulls on the weave, not much, see pictures. It is 23" measuring across turned over.
