VERY SCARCE HALLICRAFTERS S-38DM MAHOGANY WOODGRAIN METAL CABINET MODEL!Shortwave set covers 0.5-30 MHz in four bands. Works, but scratchy and needs servicing after so long I am sure. Cord in OK shape. Got stations on all bands; highest band was weak but did work. CW osc works, but not well. (Did it ever?) :)Standby switch on front panel. 0-100 bandspread. Very interesting cities marked on large slide rule dial. Four position bandswitch. SPKR-PHONES switch on back, and headphone jack is a dual pin jack like on 1920s radios. (I did not test that.) Internal speaker on top.NICE condition. Some blemishes but overall the imitation mahogany woodgrain looks very very nice. Correct knobs with gold inserts. Has back and bottom cardboard covers! (Missing three screws.) Has S-38 label on underside of bottom cardboard cover. Serial 163386.Check out the many photos!Chuck Dachis' book lists the S-38CM but not the DM. This is definitely a D!
