Here is a beautiful, well marked, Hamley saddle, Pendleton, Oregon. It has great tooling, the seat is 14 1/2" or 15" (see photo). The gullet is 4 1/2" to 5" depending on where you measure it. It has 3/4 rigging and still has the original lace up stirrups. It is marked in the seat, on the latigo keeper with the Hamley logo, see photos, it is marked behind the cantle with the initials C.L.W. Special F598 and L3. See photo. There are a couple of numbers after the L3 but I can't make them out. The tooling is gorgeous! The color is rich and the leather is all very soft and pliable for a saddle of this age. One string has been broken half way down. Other than that all stitching is good and tight. The wool is in excellent condition. So if you want to ride the best you have to buy the best. I feel this saddle to be out of the early 50's. That is only my opinion. You will not be disappointed. I will ship to U.S. only. See my other auctions, I will be listing lots of items in the next couple of weeks. The last three numbers on the back mark after the L are 814.
