Auction is for a very interesting set of what I believe to be Menominee Indian Costume pieces. This stuff came in the same box with the leggings I just sold. You get 2 sliver broaches, 2 hats, 1 collar, one wand thing with feathers and a very well made skirt which came from the estate of a Native American who was very involved in going to pow wows and dressing in Native clothing. He did most of his own work or had it had done by other expert craftsmen. These are no different. The quality is supurb. The beadwork is shown in the closeup. Man lived in Wisconsin, full blooded Indian and I believe these to be Menominee based on info from another Ebayer. He states the beadwork is quite rare. I do not know the age but would say these were made in the last 30-35 years.Skirt approx 19" long and neatly 36" in dia at the waist. material looks to be cotton. Skirt collar and hats are trimmed with beads. Feathers have broken off the hats and all need to be lint rolled. T are a few loose bead strands-you will have to look hard to find them-I did! The Collar and both hats are lined. The skirt is not. The hand made beadwork is obvious as you see strings and stitches on the inside of the skirt. This took hours to make. I am offering this set at a buy it now that is very reasonable based on the final selling price of the leggings. Lot is sold as is. read more
