The knife's OAL is 13-1/2" with a 5" super premium curly maple handle with a copper wrap (crosshatch and dot decoration) and (2) deerskin over wraps on each end of the copper. Wraps are treated with a special glue for durability, which also aids in gripping. The 8-1/2" X 1-1/2" wide "drop point" blade was forged from an old, 14" Black Diamond file (1095 carbon steel) and is 3/16" at the spine near the handle and has a good distal taper from there to the tip and a "Moran style" taper to the edge. The sheath has a vegetable tanned inner sheath with "full blade" welt, and is covered with deer rawhide and is sewn along both sides with 5 cord linen thread. The copper "insert" on the sheath front has, and matches, the same "cross hatch and dot" decoration as on the copper, knife handle wrap. (10) small handforged iron nails surrounds the insert on the edge of the rawhide. Sheath decoration includes (17) small brass tacks along the sheath edges, deerskin fringe (5" to 6" long) along the blade edge side, a stone bead, a copper bead, aged brass beads, blue glass beads, tin & brass cones and black horsehair, including a 7" black horsehair braid. The rawhide belt loop will take belts to 2-1/2" +. The knife & sheath are set up for "right-hand" carry, or could be worn on the left side for right-hand cross-draw.
