3 Day Auction ! Handforged "small belt" knife handforged by White Wolf from an old Black Diamond file. Total knife overall length is 8-11/16" with a 3-7/8" deer leg bone handle & a 4-3/4" X 1" wide blade (widest measurement at the rear). The blade has a good distal taper along the spine from handle to tip, and a "Moran-style" taper from back to edge. The handle has a copper pin, a deer rawhide handle wrap and a deerskin bolster wrap which was treated with a special glue for durability. (7) brass nails line the upper edge of the rawhide wrap. Most of the blade work was done with the hammer. The blade was then ground, drawfiled & hand sanded; then the blade was normalized, hardened and well tempered.The sheath has a vegetable tanned inner sheath a "full blade" welt and is covered with deer rawhide. The rawhide belt loop will take belts to 1-7/8" wide. The sheath is for right side carry, or wear on the left side for right hand cross-draw. Sheath decoration includes deerskin fringe, aged brass beads, aged tin & brass cones, red & blue glass beads, (5) aged silver tacks and black horsehair. All sewing on the sheath was done with 5-cord linen thread. The knife is well balanced, feels great in your hand and is very sharp. Great for the woodsman, longhunter, Indian or reenactor.
