in titles & description Handmade bronze sculpture Base Marble Cub Attacks Jaguar Barye Signed UGThey lurk in the shadows. Their eyes see all. Their movements are lethally stealth. You won't know you're being hunted until they pounce. This poor cub discovered just that as he took a lazy moment to take a drink in what he thought was a desd field near a pond. A quick but stealth Jaguar creeps up behind him and digs his massive paw into its back. The cub's head raises and he releases a painful howl. The Jaguar eclipses the cub in size. 100% bronze and handmade, this carefully detailed brown patina sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and mounted on a black marble base. It is signed by the artist Barye. Antoine Louis Barye was born in France September 24th, 1796 and he died 1875. Most of his work was focused exclusively on animals, most of them wild. He was considered and Animalier, a sculptor whose works are mostly animals. Barye is a very accomplished sculptor and artist, he has exhibited some of his works in the Salon and some of his works reside in the Louvre.Bronze Sculpture Casting TourThe process of bringing a bronze sculpture to life usingthe lost-wax method is something you'll appreciate after takingthis tour- Enjoy The Lost Wax Casting ProcessHere Artist original clay sculpture is nearly ready for the foundry.
