RARE SINGLE PONTIL - HAND GATD - SINGLE PONTIL - CLOUD MARBLE You don't see these very often at all. It probably took me 5 years to find this one (and someone willing to sell it to me). This cloud marble would have been hand made about 100 years ago by gathering the glass for it individually, instead of cutting it from a cane, creating a single pontil on the marble. This cloud is 11/16". Most all cloud marbles are under 3/4". The chips of white, red, yellow and turquoise glass in this marble float above the pontil. Since these marbles were made individually, the out-of-round characteristics of this marble are common in clouds. I have had this marble for about 15 years, it has never been buffed or polished. T is one hit on the marble, I have tried to capture in the photos, however, this marble was almost impossible to photograph. The surface of this marble is original to the marble and the process required to make it, and as such is not smooth like the cane marbles are.
