This is Wendy Lawton's doll, "Courage to Run" which is part of Lawton's 2002 series of dolls "Daughters of the Faith." Lawton designed this doll to depict a young Harriet Tubman wearing a checked homespun dress, straw hat and carrying a patchwork quilt. The doll is 11 inches tall . It has a porcelain body . It is limted edtion number 150 of 350 dolls made. This doll was made at Lawton's studio in California , before they started making some of their other dolls in China. The original retail price of the doll was $695.00 . It was part of Lawton's Connoisseur Collection for advanced doll collectors. Included is a doll stand, an unopened packet of Lawton doll postcards, a certificate of authenticity signed by Wendy Lawton, and a fictional book about Harriet Tubman, also written by Wendy Lawton.
