It's a board game in which the board begins wide open, and quests and choices populate it with items and monsters. The master game was followed by two or three expansions before it went out of print. It has become hard to find in complete condition. Please read the condition section.The game concept:Hero Quest is a fantasy adventure game set deep within a hidden stone labyrinth. It is COMPLETE. All pieces are present. The game board looks great. Booklets and cards show signs of handling but look good overall. Some of the door pieces have been bent, but they look good on the whole. The only miniature which has been broken is the gargoyle; it's wings broke down the middle, and they have been cleanly glued back in place (I've come across this game in the past and found a broken gargoyle with the wings glued crookedly, but fortunately that's not the case here). None of the other miniatures are broken. A couple of the hero figures have "lightening" of the plastic on the weapons, which happens when a bit of stressed is placed on them (usually when pieces are dumped pell-mell in the box), but as long as you don't wrench on them they should not break. None have been painted, making it the perfect project for those who like to paint miniatures. I bagged all the pieces after taking photographs. The box shows wear, including some paper tearing, sticker residue, pen marks, a taped corner, and general wear such as creasing. Despite all this, it still looks pretty good.
