This is a Magnificent American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Cruet. The Stoppered Bottle was Crafted by the J. Hoare and Co. of Corning, N.Y. , Founded in 1853. The Design of the Deep Cut Cruet is that of George L. Abbott from the J. Hoare & Co. Patent # 17110 on Feb. 15 1887. The Beautiful Design Features Projections of 16 Pointed Stars Bounded by Block and Diamond Formations Pointed with Spread Fans. The Ear Shaped Handle is Ornamented with Concave Diamond Formations and has a Comfortable Flat Thumb Rest. The Bottom has a 24 Pointed Double Mitered Fully Extended Star. The Rim has Diamond Formations all around and the Neck has Scalloped Formations Rising to the Rim. The Bottle has the Hoare Mark etched on the bottom, and has the number "36" hand etched on the back of the Neck. The Octagonal Stopper Fits Tightly and is Etched on the bottom, "J. Hoare & Co. Corning, N.Y. 1853". It is Hand Etched with the number "36". The Bottle stands 7 1/4" tall with Stopper and has a 2 1/4" body diameter and is very heavy, weighing over 1 lb.. This Fabulous Work of Art and Fine Craftsmanship is in very good vintage condition. There are a few small nicks around the neck and lip of the bottle and a very small hardly noticeable crack on the inside top of the handle joint. The Cruet is Crystal Clear and Brilliant.
