HOBO NICKEL The hobo nickel is a sculpural art form , involving the creative modification of small-denomination coins, essentially resulting in miniature bas relief's . It nickel, because of its size, thickness, and relative softness , was a favored coin for this purpose. However, the trem "hobo nickel" is generic, and carvings have been made from many different denominations. Snow White is on the reverse side of a Full Date 1962-D Silver quarter. The Seven Dwarfs are on the reverse side of Full Date Buffalo Nickels, 1935-1937. 8 coins total, each in a black ring airtite.
