A Beautiful Hohokam Decorated Bowl from Arizona Characteristics About This item: 1.Catalog Number: 836-12 2. Condition of Item: Good condition, there are a couple stress cracks (which have been professionally stabilized) and couple rim chips - please see image files. 3. Identification: This Hohokam bowl is ex-Samuel B. Schupp collection, Kirtland, Ohio. Mr. Schupp lived in Arizona in the mid-1950's-1960's. 4. Other Information: A beautiful example of an Hohokam decorated bowl with interesting 2 tone red on buff paint. I found a similar two tone designs labeled Santa Cruz phase which existed from 850-950 AD. The Hohokam culture came from the Phoenix and Tucson areas of Arizona. The bowl measures 6 1/8" diameter and 2 5/8" high. The interior design is painted with 2 shades of red paint on buff colored clay. There are trailing lines painted on the underside of the bowl .
