Offered here is a really weird guitar project I picked up a while back. It's definitely someone's homebuild , and whilst it has it's quirks, it seems to have been done with some genuine skill, and could make a nice guitar if completed. I bought it purely because I LOVE the shape, and the weird fishy headstock, but I've had a bunch more projects through the door recently, and need to make some space. It's one piece mahogany, body and neck, and looks to be a really quality piece of wood- much darker than that used on Burns etc of the timeIt doesn't come with any parts, but I did have it strung up a while ago, and it sustained really well, as you'd expect. The neck is pretty chunky, which I liked, but not uncomfortably so. To get it up and running, apart from parts required, it will need a bit of fretwork, as it's somewhat hampered by the quality of the fretwire available to the maker at the time- no real grip, so some of them are lifting! If I was going to pursue this project, I'd stick a new slotted fretboard on there, I think, as the fretboard is flat, (and seems to be formica covered ply!). There is a little damage by the control cavity that would need patching up. There you have it- a pretty unique project! happy to answer any questions, pickup fine, or £15 posted within the UK.
