HOPI RATTLE HOPI DANCE RATTLE Artist: This Rattle was created by local Hopi artist, Paul Pawytewa. He brought several pieces by our home on the Hopi "Rez" this afternoon. Materials: Dried gourd and Cottonwood root. Turkey feathers hang from the tips, as Eagle plumes are illegal to sell. Size: 6 1/2" high, 2 3/4" wide. Crystal Trading Post was named for the Crystal Chapter on the Navajo Nation, from w we are based. All of the items we are listing were made by family, friends and neighbors. We are doing this in an effort to create a steady income on the Reservation. The Reservations have a high rate of unemployment and the majority of families are living in extreme poverty conditions.
