This is a strap of souvenir horse brasses we brought home from England recently. The commemorative strap measures 18.5 inches long and has three brasses: Jenny Jones from Wales; a crown for the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977 and a squirrel. Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes.
