This is the Flag and First Day Cover flown around the world with Howard Hughes in his epic record breaking time flight around the world promoting the 1939 NY Worlds Fair. The flags were a part of the promotion of the worlds fair. The private Hughe's FDCs were for a momento to those people that helped with the flight. These were the only non essential items on board due to flight weight constrictions. The photo is of Howard & Crew departing Floyd Benett Field after the flight. These items came from the estate of Al Lodwick, who was Howard's Flight Operations Manager. A lot of items were entrusted to Al by Howard for aviation archives displayed in the Lodwick School of Aeronautics in Lakeland Florida. This is an opportunity to own a very rare piece of aviation history. Some of these items were sold in a auction in the 70s and I will start the bidding at the price they sold for 30 some years ago. The buyer pays Priority Mail Insured and thanks a lot for stopping by!!!
