This is Human Torch 36, published in 1954 by Atlas Comics, the company which was Timely comics in the 1940s and Marvel Comics from the 1960s to the present. This is one of the scarce Cold War anti-communist issues, and it has a great Carl Burgos cover. There are three Human Torch stories and a Sub-Mariner story. The centerfold is attached by only the bottom staple, there is a 1" spine split at the top of the spine and a 1/2" split at the bottom of the spine, there is a light reading crease that bisects the H in Human on the front cover, and the C and A in car on the back cover, and there is some edgewear on the front cover. The top staple was misfired at the printer's so it went through the back cover close to the spine instead of the spine. You can see this on the back cover scan. The inside pages only have one set of staple holes around that top staple, so it was not a staple that was added later by a collector as you sometimes see on books this age. There's an 1/8th inch triangle out on the right side of the front cover and a 1/2" tear on the left of the back cover. Pages are between off-white and yellow. Shipping includes insurance.
