Incredible Quality Spanish Damascene Eyeglass Case Presented is a masterfully designed damascene, gold inlaid eyeglass case from Spain, most likely Toledo. This fabulous quality piece was handmade during the late 1800s. The whole things is completely engraved and inlaid with gold. The front and back are decorated with detailed dragons and flowers surrounded by flourishes. The velvet on the interior has been replaced with a lush, cobalt blue velvet, certainly not the original velvet. The hinge is very tight and the case snaps very securely shut. This piece is so intricately designed and constructed that the photos cannot really express the full detail of this piece. This piece is in virtually mint condition, which is incredible for its age. T are no missing or worn parts, no dents, no breaks, no splits and no repairs. The case measures 5 1/8 inches long.
