's a rare Woodland Period (3,500-1,500 yr. old) ADENA PIPE REAMER from along the Kankakee River in Lake Co., Indiana. It's 2 3/8 in. long, 1/4 in. thick, nicely made of patinated banded light and dark gray Attica (Indiana Green) Chert and in excellent condition. It's a nice example of a rare artifact likely used to ream out the bowls of pipes made of soft stone such as steatite or pipestone. Edge wear on the blade edges indicates such a likely use. This one was made by modifying the blade of an Adena projectile point point from the famous Adena Moundbuilder Culture that was once centered in what is now Ohio. My AACA, ARROWPACK and G.I.R.S. memberships guarantee the authenticity of my artifacts for life, OR YOUR MONEY BACK! Buyer pays $1.75 S/H. No reserve. Good luck!
