Up for grabs in this auction is a rare, authentic gameused/worn 1993 Indianapolis Ice road jersey. The Ice wore this classic stylethroughout the late 1980s and early 1990s (the “Good Guys Wear Black” era) but I’ve dated it to 1993 because previous to 1993 their jerseys were made by CCM, and in 1994 they made an utterly regrettable change to a purple color scheme with a new logo. This jersey is made by Bauer ProWear, who continued providing the Ice their uniforms throughout the 1990s. So this jersey only saw action in one season, which also happened to be the last season the Ice demonstrated any fashion sense. It is made from a heavy, pro weight material that feels like the durene material old football jerseys were made from (polyester, according to the label). The Ice logos on the front chest and sleeves are fully embroidered onto tackle twill backing. The numbers are dual-layer tackle twill: silver on black in the sleeves and silver on white on the back. The Bauer and IHL logos are fully embroidered into the rear hem. It has reinforced elbows, underarm gussets for freedom of movement, and of course the fight strap. It is tagged a size XL, but beneath that in faded ink it looks like someone wrote either 44 or 48.
