Up for bids is this beautiful batik tulis 'kain' textile (cotton). Often it is worn as a sarong in Indonesia. Batik is a traditional art w dyes are used with various applications of wax, cantings , stamps or brushes on cotton. This batik cloth is of size approximate 72 inches by 41 inches. This kain has a beautiful floral design of various flowers and leaves. The background is filled with other traditional designs specific of Java . Colors are brown, light golden brown, reddish pink, blue and green. I purchased the sarong in the 1970s. The digital image is often lighter than the real sarong. The design and color show a Chinese and Dutch influence. Stickers on the sarong say it is 100% tulis asli (hand drawn) and made by batik halus, dua ikan, kudus asli, istimewa.
