Covered Sugar Bowl in Impromptu Bridal White Pattern by Iroquois China This listing is for covered sugar bowl in the Bridal White Impromptu pattern by Iroquois China, Syracuse, New York, U.S.A. The Impromptu line, introduced in 1956, was designed by Ben Seibel. Seibel was a contemporary of other well-known designers Russel Wright, Eva Zeisel and Viktor Schrekengost. The Impromptu shape is a very contemporary, mid-century modern style. This round, all-white, true china sugar bowl is 5 7/8 inches in diameter at the rim, 3 inches in diameter at the base and 2 1/2 inches deep. The lid has a "gull wing" shaped finial in the center. With the lid in place the set is 3 1/2 inches tall. This well cared for covered sugar bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and just a few light utensil marks seen with reflected light. The black back stamp reads, "c impromptu True China by Iroquois, Ben Seibel Design, Made in U.S.A."
