Map is filled with a lot of topographical details as well as cities, fortresses, rivers, harbours, woods, etc. Map fashioned with a decorative title cartouche and a cartouche including dedication . Dimension: Paper size approx.: cm 53,3 x 39,6 Condition: Strong and dark impression on good paper. Paper with chains and wiremarks. Uncolored as issued. Wide margins. Paper with browning. Cartographer: Giovanni Antonio Magini was born in Padua in 1555, and devoted himself to astronomical studies very early, in 1588 he was hired by the Senate of Bologna to the chair of Astronomy at the university, preferred even to Galileo Galilei. The personal friendship with the Duke of Mantua, Vincenzo Gonzaga Magini allowed to get by princes and rulers of the various governments of the peninsula the maps necessary for the implementation of the Charter of the then Italian regions. Magini map of the great effort was given to light posthumously due to the untimely death in 1617 by his son Fabio, who in 1620 published in Bologna Atlas "Italy".
