Italian WW1 M16 steel helmet Adrian pattern with liner and chinstrap, original outer surface painted green for Italian Army. This RARE helmet was manufactured for the Italian Army without an emblem or badge affixed. It was manufactured as one piece as opposed to the French Adrian model that was manufactured as two pieces with the familiar joining seam. Chin strap is cut at one side and not clear if missing a piece.Helmet is from the estate of Major Harold Ferguson (1888-1963) who served in the AEF Regimen 143 during WWI. At war's end he served in Italy under the Hoover Commission to deliver food to the starving Italians. A free biography will be included in the purchase as provenance.
