J2B2: #42 Marramamba Tiger Eye Rough, 7.7 Lbs. #42 Marramamba Tiger Eye Rough, 7.7 Lbs. Tiger eye is one of the most desirable gemstones that are found in Western Australia. It occurs in the rugged Hamersley Ranges of the Pilbara region. This is an area that is extremely rich in iron ore, with many huge mines currently operating. Tiger eye is found in a few limited areas in these iron formations The best known area is near Mount Brockman. A ridge of hills about 6 miles long, has produced good quality material from a number of small deposits. Two of these deposits have produced the famed "Marramamba" tiger eye. This is a particularly rare variety that has stunningly chatoyant reds & blues with black mirror-like magnetite. We are not professional photographers but all pictures are taken new each week to show you the exact lot that we are selling and we try to bring you clear crisp pictures. Sometimes that is not always possible. All pictures are shown wet unless otherwise noted. We believe that we have a very high quality of rock from the old collections that we buy. However, we can not be held responsible for what is in a raw rock. No one really knows but the cutter.
