A very old, hand made, fighting sickle made with very good hand forged steel. It has a nice spring, and there is no telling how many times the steel was folded in the making. Who ever made it was proud enough to leave his signature. It is stamped Takagi Yoten, a form of Jujutsu that is rarely practice anymore, a very old style. Takagi translates to, not exactly but same meaning, to morality. Yoten, not exactly but same meaning, Key point. It is also stamped Osaka. I believe this blade to be made pre ww2 note the signature stamp this is old style japanese. The made in japan stamp was more then likely added after 1949 in osaka for import. A simple, but beautiful piece of Japanese culture....Simple in form ---but skilfully made with much attention paid to detail by a master craftsman.
