Beautiful Japanese Meiji Black & Gold Chrysanthemum Lacquer 2 Tier Box Presented is a beautiful Japanese Meiji period black and gold lacquer box. The box is done in two tiers, with a lid on top. The exterior features a lovely design of chrysanthemum blossoms, buds and leaves in different shades of gold, against a dark black background. The interior of the compartments is a rich gold. The box is very well made and handsome.The box is in great overall condition. There is some loss to one corner, which could easily be restored with black paint. There are a few nicks here and there along the edges, but nothing of any significance in our opinion.
