"All the Woodblock Prints of Joichi Hoshi". Excellent original woodblock print reference book on sosaku hanga icon Joichi Hoshi. Published Kato in 1985, and long out of print. Later, Kato published a second Hoshi book, titled "All the Tree Woodblock Prints of Joichi Hoshi", but it was much smaller, and not nearly so comprehensive (and nowhere near as rare!). The book is in fair condition, with minor shelf wear. It had been someone's working copy before it was my working copy, and it has pencil and ink notes scattered over some two dozen of the 120 pages (they are from the "someone else", not from me). These are typically small notes in the margins, with price information, etc. It is somewhat annoying that someone would do that to a book, but the book is so rare and sought after, that allowances can be made. (I will add pics of some of the affected pages shortly.) Superbly illustrated, with text in English. Note: I just sold a very nice example of this book on ebay at more than double the opening price of this one! See auction number 190601190675. If you are looking for a "working copy" of the book, and not immensely concerned about fine condition, this may be right up your alley.
