This item is being relisted because of non-paying bidder by janusa-art. Watch out for this guy he sends his messages in non-recognizable language (ebay customer support could not even translate his messages) and my request to pay for purchase went unanswered. Anyways here it is again.A nice World War 2 Japanese samurai sword used by a officer during the war. The tang is signed by the maker “Ishihara Kanenao,” with seki arsenal inspection stamp on one side, and in big white painted characters “2, 4 and 9” signifying stock numbers on the opposite side. Ishihara Kanenao is one of the many seki smiths that made swords during the 40’s for wartime purposes. Seki in present day Gifu prefecture is still famous for making high quality knives. It has a nice narrow water base suguha (straight) temper with big swell as it nears the tip. The blade is in excellent condition, no rust, bends or pitting. Has a two very very tiny nicks, so tiny I tried to photograph it both inside and outside and doesn’t show, it just a blurr trying to magnify it. Anyways it less than a 1/16”. Some light minor scuffing/streaking marks but very minor and hardly noticeable. The handle wrap is original and in good condition. The scabbard has a brown layer of course texture lacquer??? same material sometimes seen on the marine sword scabbards. This covers a traditional
