This is a Japanese WWll naval officer`s sword in Kaigunto mountings. The blade is signed "Goto Hiromasa 後藤廣正" with 関 inspection stamp, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows light dtains but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome with yakidashi temper and has deep temper at the point. There is no nick, no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is mounted in Naval Kaigunto mountings, scabbard is ray-skin covered wood scabbard, no tear, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose also in good condition. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 26+1/8" tip to the guard, 25+3/8" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 7 mm thickness at the notch and 39+1/4" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. No international shipping.
