This auction is for an Extremely RARE JENSEN HF-18 ELECTRO DYNAMIC FIELD COIL SPEAKER. It is made by the Jensen Radio Manufacturing Co. Chicago, USA. The Jensen tag on the back of the magnet gives the model as an HF-18, the rectangular plate at the bottom lists; 65 watts, 105-125 volts, 60 cycles, 8 ohm input impedance, type # C1577. There is a rubber stamped number on one of the frame webs that reads #6001. The DC resistance of the voice coil reads about 4.6 ohms (good for an 8 ohm speaker). This speaker was in use until 1977, and it was one of the best sounding woofers I have ever heard! Since then it has been in storage, so I think the capacitors in the power supply will need to be tested before you use it. As you can see there was an old repair to the top of the cone in the surround area, there are two holes at the lower edge of the surround (see the close up pictures). This speaker comes with the complete power supply for the field coil EXCEPT FOR THE #80 RECTIFIER TUBE, and it will need a plug for the AC line cord. I took the tube in the pictures, from my antique radio, just to show its location on the speaker. If I can locate one before the auction closes, I will try to pack it safely with the speaker. If not, I am sure you can get one on ebay. I did look already, but could not find an extra. I will keep looking, but don't read more
