Up for auction is a nice little Appy HORSE fetish carving by Navajo artisan David Yazzie . This Appaloosa is carved from black jet and features turquoise inlay on it's hind quarters with several black dots and a turquoise spot on it's nose. He stands close to 1&1/2 inches tall at the ears, about 2&1/2 inches long, and a little over 1/2 inch wide The eyes are inlaid turquoise and jet. The artist's initials, "DTY", are etched in a somewhat obscure place on the inside of the horse's right front foreleg. This is an authentic Native American hand-carved sculpture from northern New Mexico/Arizona. In Native tradition, each animal has specific characteristics and powers.
