The majority of the pot has a rich tenmoku glaze that nicely contrasts with the green ash glaze that adorns the upper portion. The latter is further adorned with an allover pattern of slightly angled vertical slashes. The outside of the piece also features two well-placed raised rings. This lovely jar stands 8 ½" tall and measures app 7 ¾" at its widest. It is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs- and has the potter's personal impressed mark as well as that of his Ainstable pottery on an unglazed band just above the base. Please note: Given the unglazed rim, the jar may have had a lid earlier in its life. This is a no reserve auction.ABOUT JIM MALONE: Jim Malone was born in Sheffield in 1946 and studied ceramics at Camberwell during the early 1970's.
