John Fox Book Of Martyrs Folio 1776 FINE BINDING Christian book historic.It is, The Lives of the Primitive Martyrs from the Birth of our Blessed Saviour to the Reign of Queen Mary IWith the Life of Mr. John Fox[together with]The Book of MartyrsContaining an Account of the Sufferings & Death of the Protestants in the Reign of Queen Mary the FirstIt lacks only the title page and the frontispiece for The Lives of The Primitive Martyrs and the Life of John Fox, although it does have a beautiful title page and frontispiece for The Book of Martyrs.(which is the primary body of the work)It has all of the called for illustrations including six bound in before the Book of Martyrs.(37 total)Is a very solid volume, with both boards holding very well and the text a little grubby here and there but primarily very clean and unmarked.There is one page of text that has some page repair adjacent to one of the illustrations in the first section.I would call the overall condition very good....and complete textually.The first section (Life of John Fox and the Lives of Primitive Martyrs) is 287 pages, followed by alphabetical tables.The second section which is the Book of Martyrs, has 815 pages.It is a massive folio! It stands 15 inches tall, and nearly three and a half inches thick!
