Selling eight gorgeous plates in the Flow Blue Pattern Dorothy. Measure approx. 9" in diameter. CONDITION: Wear on the gold trim around the outer edge of each plate. (see close up of rim of all plates) Three plates have one to two areas caused from air bubbles w the glaze is missing. Caused at the time of production. (see close up picture "3rd down left side") One plate has a very tiny chip along the outer rim. (see close up picture with arrow "bottom left") Seven plates have no chips or cracks with no crazing. The flow blue is beautiful with no signs of wear. The white area shows moderate signs of use from silverware. Purchased at an estate auction. Overall condition is very good for the age. It is found on all types of better pottery from stoneware to porcelain, and is usually an underglaze design although onglaze does occur. It is quite striking in appearance with its deep blue coloring on a white background, often further decorated with touches of gold.
