Offered at auction is a vintage HO Kar-Line 40’ AAR Boxcar in the late steam / early modern era bright yellow and red livery of the Akron , Canton & Youngstown railroad. Markings include the large ACY idenitifier, and the Serving Ohio and the Nation slogan and Road of Service slogans. The car is fully assembled, is in excellent condition, and is ready to run. It comes equipped with Kadee couplers and diecast Central Valley T-55 Bettendorf sprung trucks with brass RP-25 wheelsets. No original box but the car will be shipped in a sturdy Athearn box for safe transit. Kar-Line stock #224, ACY roadnumber 3232. Long out of production. Sold as is but all questions are welcome. Kar-Lines were originally manufactured by Madsen Model Railroad Products out of East Aurora , New York and were built on undecorated Model Die Cast (MDC) / Roundhouse and later Athearn boxcar shells. From the 1960s through the mid 1980s Kar-Lines were among the premium HO model railroad products of their day and featured crisp decal work, custom painting and numbering, Kadee couplers, Central Valley or Kar-Line trucks with brass wheelsets, and a signature gloss finish coat.
