Offered for auction is perhaps one of the rarest and most sought after of Kay Finch California Ceramic Art Pottery Figurines. It is I believe, the largest Elephant figurine that she produced. You serious collectors let me know if I am wrong in that statement and I will gladly change the text!!! I depend on you!!! This is exactly the same elephant that is on the cover of the great Kay Finch reference and price guide that was written by Mike Nickel and Cindy Horvath back in the mid 90's. I've included a picture of that reference book. Kay Finch was in operation out of Corona Del Mar California from 1939 - 1963. The elephant is approximately 16" long by 17.5" high by 8" wide. It is the exact colors of the one on the reference book cover. I have seriously gone over it with a magnifying glass and can find no crazing or cracks or hairlines, etc. However it does have 4 issues that I want to describe in detail. I have included pictures that I hope will reflect exactly what the issues are that I am describing. 1st and 2nd in photos 8 and 9 t are two minute "flea bites" on the left ear of the elephant. I hate the term "flea bites" but that is what they are. Each one of them is less than 1/8" long, with one of them even less than that. 3rd on his rear right leg in the circular pink decoration in the leg band it has been chipped. The chip is read more
