Wonderful rare Macomb stoneware bank. This 3 1/2" tall bank is marked in a fancy rectangle RINGGOLD COUNTY / SAVINGS BANK. / KELLERTON, IOWA. The base is clearly debossed MACOMB STONEWARE CO. / MACOMB / ILL. Made in the 1900 era and sold just in central Illinois, southern Iowa, Northern Missouri and eastern Kansas in what appears to be following the Burlington Northern route. The bank is missing it handle which is unfortunately common with the fragile handles applied to these, other wise the label was lightly smeared when produced and the glazing is lightly crazed, no chips, cracks or other damage and a stronger than normal label and base debossing. Kellerton is between Mount Ayr and Decatur City and Lamoni and Beaconsfield. Please e-mail any questions. Buyer please wait to receive my invoice before making payment to insure proper postage and payment method. Pick up in central Iowa is possible.
