“Kigyoku Garfu” is a book of 22 color woodblock prints by the artist Kurokawa Yasusada Kigyoku published in Tokyo in 1901. Each image is composed of two pages. Most of the prints show flowering plants like hydrangea, iris, morning glory, and chrysanthemum. One shows cresting ocean waves; one shows birds in flight; and one shows a bearded man sitting beneath a pine tree, which is perhaps the most famous in the book. The book is bound with paper covers and held together with thread that is original but broken. The book is 7.5 inches wide by 11 inches high. The back cover has a sprinkling of age spots, but all the prints are in very good, clean condition. This is not a reprint or facsimile.
