Muammar Khaddafi is one of the most notorious rulers of the 20th Century, and also one of the craftiest. He has been in power since 1969, longer than our last 7 Presidents combined!!! This lot consists of 40 different items related to Khaddafi and the Socialist Republic of Libya, in 5 parts: 1) CURRENCY This is the only currency in the world to depict Khaddafi . In fact, it shows him twice (once in the watermark). Unlike most Iraqi "Saddam" notes printed in many denominations and in very large quantities, this bill has always been, and will always be, very scarce. Saddam's portrait appeared on every series of notes that was circulated during his long rule. Khaddafi appears on just a handful of notes. Beautifully engraved in multi-colors, this bill has long been out of print yet remains in Gem Crisp Uncirculated condition due to the foresight of our "African" connection. Very limited supply . Get one while you can - they're not making any more of them and we can't replace our supply. 2) JUMBO KHADDAFI STAMPS This is a group of 6 very scarce jumbo stamps celebrating the Libyan Socialist Revolution and its renowned leader. Each stamp is almost 6 times the size of a U.S. Forever stamp ! The stamps are 100% mint, unused and never hinged. Khaddafi appears in a different uniform on each stamp, before a different branch of his military in dramatic action. Foremost among his soldiers are comely young ladies (the same kind he likes to have as "bodyguards"!), The colors and background images are really amazing!! 3) Souvenir Sheets with Jumbo Stamps These scarce souvenir sheets commemorate Omar Muktar's rebellion against occupying Colonial Italian forces. One of them shows his "martyrdom" as he is surrounded by an overwhelming force of Italian troops. The other shows a governmental building rising above a sea of revolutionaries and attacking mounted Italian troops, signifying the birth of an independent Libya. The sheets remain in mint, never used, never hinged condition. 4) JUMBO STAMPS IN PAIRS SHOWING HISTORIC BATTLES Here you have 10 superb large stamps joined together in pairs, depicting historic battles between native Libyans and occupying foreign forces. Unique and dramatic scenes, absolutely mint, usued and never-hinged!! 4) REGULAR ISSUE STAMPS Approximately 20 MORE regular issue stamps (used) from the 1960's to 1980's, many large, colorful and beautiful or with dramatic images.
