Up for sale is an original signed limited edition color woodblock print by internationally acclaimed artist KIYOSHI SAITO (Japanese, 1907 - 1997), circa 1959.This original color woodblock print, “Gion Nikenchaya Nakamuraro”, is signed in white ink by the artist on the image lower left. It is also stamped in red with the artist’s stamp. Virtuoso use of the grain in the woodblock medium is characteristic of Saito's best work; this, combined with a composition of contrasting open space and solid shapes, colors both muted and bright, make this a fascinating print. There are some yellow tape residue on the margin left from the original matting and also small wrinkle on left-side margin. Other than that the print looks great.It measures 11.25” x 17.25” (sheet), 10.25” x 15.25” (image). Item will be shipped 1-2 days upon receipt of payment.
