KLM/BOLS Blue Delft Miniature Houses Collection. Seventy nine unique miniature models of Old Dutch Houses. KLM started the tradition of serving their drinks in collectible delft houses in 1950 to get around the industry ban on giving presents to their customers. When their competitors complained "KLM is giving presents to their customers" KLM's response was "May we decide how we serve our drinks? Is t a law which says drinks must be served in a glass?" And so the tradition started. KLM has been flying for 87 years, so t are now 87 houses available in the collection. This auction is for numbers 1 through 79. Each house is modeled on an actual structure in Holland or a famous building in Dutch lore. For instance, Number 14 is the 1688 House of the Two Sea-gods in Amsterdam; Number 47 is the Anne Frank House; and Number 48 is the Rembrandt House. T is plenty more info on the KLM collection in eBay's Reviews and Guides section, and photos and history of each House are available on the web. In this collection of numbered buildings 1-79, the houses are in mint condition, and are sealed with the original contents (which is a rarity among these collectibles!). One house (Number 1) has a tiny hairline crack on the front which is barely visible to the naked eye (as shown in the photo) and is empty. All the other houses are perfect. Professionally read more
