Beautiful blue beaded gourd rattle from the Southern California Viejas Band of the Kumeyaay Indians. The beading details are stunning with blues, white black with special tiny bands of black and gold and silver and red. The rattle has a white leather strap with larger black and white beads. Attached is a presentation card saying this was a gift presented in behalf if the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians. The card says "The Kumeyaay lived life as a song. They danced and sang to celebrate, mourn and teach..." The rattle including leather strap measures approximately 21 inches and the guard measures 10 inches. The end of the gourd has a couple of tiny pinhead size spots without paint and shows some natural bumpiness of the gourd. Please do not hesitate to ask questions.
