Stunning Cat Mola - Very Finely Executed - Collected by Ann Parker and Avon Neal. An absolutely superb mola, this piece combines gorgeous design, wonderful color and impeccable cutting and sewing. Molas. Folk Art of the Cuna Indians , is one of the most important mola books ever written. Ann Parker and Avon Neal were a couple who teamed together to write a number of books on folk art. They made numerous trips to the San Blas Islands, starting in 1965. Their focus was on "story telling" molas, with a particular emphasis on acculturated molas that found their inspiration in western culture -- magazine ads, billboards and comic books.
