LOT # 107 Detailed Photos Estate Road Show L107 LOT OF 3 VINTAGE BROOCHES (WHITE ENAMEL, FLORALS & NATURALS, CORO) Item Description For your consideration, a lot of white enamel brooches including a 3 inch orchid brooch from Coro jewelry company. Notice the enamel leaf in green beneath and the yellow detail work in the white enamel orchid. The second brooch is done in an abstract leaf pattern. The third, a sweet little blossom pin. All three brooches are in shades of white, perfect for wearing on a summer night. Coro, the costume jewelry design company, was founded in 1901 but its name was not officially changed to the signet until 1940. Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger (his partner) opened a small fashion accessory store on Broadway in New York City in the early part of the century. The company moniker was a contraction of the first two letters of each man⿿s name. Cohn and Rosenberger did not design jewelry personally. Instead, they opted to hire professional jewelry designers to come up with the designs. Then, using the wax mold templates, they completed the actual production work. Coro's mainstay products in the accessories market consisted primarily of selling cast jewelry (although stampings were also used during the fabrication process).
