LARGE 1954 Original Photo GIANTS Champions WORLD SERIES Starting Bid 99 cents !!! .... Absolutely NO RESERVE !!! DESCRIPTION A Vintage 1954 ORIGINAL Photo issued by the New York Daily Mirror depicting the New York Giants. Photograph is a “ONE-of-a-KIND” Large format, studio panoramic photo measuring 8” x 14” and was one used to make prints at the time, most likely for player and team personnel (ALL the writing in white ink including the team name and players were written on the photo to identify the players. The last three letters in the word CHAMPS has rubbed off but the rest of the lettering is intact). The photograph is in fair to good condition with clipped upper corners and multiple vertical creases which is most prominent on the right side. The contrast and clarity otherwise is superb on this 1st generation piece and shows the faces of the players in great detail which includes Willie Mays, Monte Irvin, Hank Thompson, Bobby Thomson, Alvin Dark, Johnny Antonelli, Hoyt Wilhelm and Leo Durocher. The club would go on to upset the Cleveland Indians that year to capture the World Series. As with ALL our auctions, t is NO RESERVE so Bid to WIN !!!
